Parkroyal on Pickering Singapore

I’ve stayed at The Parkroyal on Pickering twice now, first time in September 2015 and most recently November 2016.  You might see some haze in some photos in this post, they’re older photos and Singapore was blanketed by a smokey haze from bushfires burning in nearby Indonesia.

The Parkroyal on Pickering is smack bang in the middle of Chinatown and is one of the most prominent buildings in the area due to it’s unique architecture and the fact it’s covered in plants.

The hotel is what you’d call extremely upmarket with fancy restaurants and bars in the foyer and an amazing infinity pool a few floors up.  At check in the reception staff work together to make you feel important and serve up a drink while they do their paperwork.  Anything you need during your stay the staff will be more than happy to help with.

The building has both a green theme and a water theme which you’ll notice throughout the foyer area with the floor seeming to float above a large pond.

Once you get upstairs to your room you won’t be disappointed with even the basic offering of rooms being packed with luxuries and comforts.

The rooms feature almost full automation with buttons everywhere to push to set mood lighting, open and close the blinds and activate the bathroom.

There’s a fully stocked minibar hiding away in a cupboard which features automation technology so the hotel know when you’re running low on something and will come top it up for you.

Once you’ve had enough of your room, head downstairs to the pool and spa on level 6 for even more luxury.

The infinity pool overlooks the CBD and Chinatown and features these amazing “pods” which have comfortable lounges inside that you can relax on and order a drink.  I ended up falling asleep in there for a while, it’s just so relaxing.

Outside the hotel and directly next door is the Chinatown Point Shopping Center featuring many restaurants, specialty stores and a supermarket.  It’s also conveniently above the SMRT station making hopping around Singapore super easy.

I have no doubt that the next time I am in Singapore, the Parkroyal on Pickering will be on my list of places to stay.
